Well-behaved dogs are welcome with some restrictions and requests.
We take great care to make sure your stay is perfect, such as comfy new furniture, streaming TV, a well-stocked kitchen, newly sanded and stained "whitewash" hardwoods, numerous beach toys and boogie boards, and very comfortable beds (sheets 1800 thread count).
But, the main attraction here is the open floor plan with a four-season sunroom overlooking awe-inspiring water views with direct and quick access to the beach and the expansive Delaware Bay! You'll become addicted to the sound of the gentle waves breaking against the beautiful wide beach, curling up with a great book, or just long naps swinging above the dune.
From sunrise to sunset, you're surrounded by beauty ... wake up to the smell of coffee from our coffee bar, enjoy a stunning sunrise over the water, the sound of seagulls, herons, and egrets dancing along the coastline, and maybe even see dolphins frolicking for breakfast
If you love long, relaxing walks, this is the perfect beach-combers paradise with wide sandy beaches and shells - sometimes even sea glass. A large new 30x12 stone patio provides ample room to enjoy the outdoors, have a cookout on our new grill, or just enjoy late-night conversation under the stars.
The indoors is beautiful too, stylishly decorated and comfortable (you will NOT find hand-me-down Thrift Shop furnishings here)! Enjoy meals together in the sunroom dining nook that seats eight, play board games and puzzles with the family, or just take long dreamy naps in our spa where two full-length massagers melt your stress away and the sound of the water lull you to sleep.
If you want a quiet and peaceful spot right on the beach, versus the hectic crowds at the major beach attractions, this is 100% for you. Or you can have both - time in nature and time with the ocean beach crowd (Atlantic Beach is 15 minutes away). Our cottage is in Slaughter Beach, but it should be called Sanctuary Beach for the nature reserve that surrounds the area, featuring the world-renowned horseshoe crab migration and red knot arctic bird migration.
