Ottawa and Lake Placid are less than 2 hours away and make a wonderful day trip to visit that museum you have always wanted to see or hike in the Adirondacks (many other great hikes closer to Boyd Pond such as Stone Valley, Lampson Falls, Harper Falls, Huckleberry, Moon & Wolf Lake hike).
